For many cyclists, a bike isn’t just transport. It’s an investment. A passion. Something shaped by miles and memories. For some, it’s a piece of art.
And like any piece of art, it deserves to be seen not hidden away in a shed or garage, left leaning unprotected against a wall.

When Bikes Become Part of the Space
As cycling culture has evolved, so too have the spaces bikes live in. Homes, garages, studios, and offices are no longer just places to store bikes they’re places to display them.

We’ve seen bikes mounted in living rooms, hung in minimalist apartments, and displayed alongside cars in carefully curated garages. For many riders, a bike is an expression of design, identity, and intent.
Most bike storage solutions force a compromise. They either look good but offer little protection, or they’re secure but visually intrusive. For cyclists with high-value or deeply personal bikes, that compromise never felt acceptable. Wall hooks and basic hangers were never designed with theft in mind. They hold a bike, but they don’t protect it.

The Solution: Secure Storage, Designed to Be Seen
AIRLOK was created to do two things equally well: securely protect your bike and display it in a way that looks right at home in your space.

AIRLOK was the world’s first high-security bicycle storage hanger and nine years on, it remains the only Sold Secure Diamond-rated bike hanger on the market. Built around a hardened steel frame and an integrated 30mm hardened steel locking pin, its construction delivers serious resistance against theft.
AIRLOK’s distinctive triangular shape allows it to accommodate a wide range of bike frames from road and gravel bikes to mountain bikes and e-bikes making it suitable for almost any rider, in almost any space.

Just as importantly, AIRLOK is designed to protect the bike itself. A rubberised frame recess helps prevent scratches to frames and paintwork, while security fixings reduce the risk of hanger removal. Each AIRLOK is supplied with three coded, replaceable keys and is backed by a lifetime warranty.
Designed. Tested. Refined.
AIRLOK didn’t appear fully formed. It’s the result of hundreds of hours of design and development, involving countless sketches, prototypes, and iterations. Early versions were built, mounted, and relentlessly stress tested.
Designing something like AIRLOK isn’t about meeting minimum standards — it’s about pushing beyond them. High-security products can’t rely on claims alone. This meticulous approach is why AIRLOK holds multiple independent security ratings and industry awards.
Awards & Accreditations

During development, AIRLOK was subjected to a series of deliberate tests some more serious than others.
There were sustained hammer attacks, heavy load tests, and what later became known internally as the “monkey test”: people hanging their full body weight from the lock to push it far beyond anything it would encounter in everyday use. Time and again, the results were clear the wall was more likely to fail than the AIRLOK.
These moments were often captured on camera, not as marketing stunts, but as part of Hiplok’s culture of over engineering and curiosity. The tone may have been playful, but the intent was always serious: to design products riders can truly trust.
AIRLOK × Paul Smith
AIRLOK caught the attention of iconic British designer Paul Smith. A lifelong cyclist with an instinctive eye for style, Paul Smith collaborated with Hiplok co-founders Ben and John to create two bespoke, limited-edition AIRLOK covers.

Today, the Paul Smith AIRLOK is used at Hiplok HQ to display and secure a very special bike. Discovered at a car boot sale in France, this retro race bike became the first official Hiplok test bike, used to put the original Hiplok through its paces on an inaugural ride from London to Brighton.
The Hiplok ORIGINAL was later gifted by Ben and John to Paul Smith making it only fitting that this custom AIRLOK design now showcases the bike where it all began.
