The weapon of choice for the professional bike thief is the angle grinder – a motorised hand tool that can cut through any lock in seconds. To date, this fundamental problem has been largely ignored by the security industry as it has seemed too difficult to solve. Introducing the Hiplok D1000 anti-angle grinder bike lock.

We launched the D1000 via Kickstarter on 30th September 2021. It is the world’s first truly portable anti-angle grinder bike lock. Composed of advanced materials never used before in bicycle or motorcycle locks, we believe the D1000 represents a new era in mobile bike security.

But we’re not the only ones to think so. It has been tested by Sold Secure, one of the world’s leading lock testing facilities, and rated the highest possible rating for bicycles and motorcycles: Bicycle and Motorcycle Diamond. Plus, since its launch, the D1000 has been further tried and tested by various independent experts with both battery and mains-powered angle grinders.
