A Mountain Biker’s heaven, we’re excited to see Slam 69 Bicycle Shop become one of Hiplok’s newest retailers. Slam 69 is owned and managed by the Foot family who have been around bikes for a lifetime. We caught up with Graham Foot to find out more about the people and products behind this off-road gem of a store in the middle of Gloucestershire.
How did Slam 69 cycles get started?
Thats quite a story, ok I’ll keep it short. Basically Slam69 came about due to demand for my workshop. I have had a cycle shop before back in the 90’s so after that shut, i carried on wheel building and fixing bikes. this became to much to handle part time i left the day job and moved into our current premises. So we started in my Garage and went from there.
What was your first bicycle?
Raleigh 24” back in the mists of time. I was 7 years old. I’m now 60.
Slam 69 is clearly hugely passionate about mountain biking, do you have a favourite discipline within MTB?
All mountain. Used to race downhill and managed to win vets National champs in 96. but love all mountain. (Enduro as its now become)
Where’s your favourite place to ride in your area?
Cranham!
How did you hear about Hiplok?
Not sure, known of the brand for ages then saw Fishers had taken it on so bought in. Great brand.
