Secured By Design x Hiplok Advice on Buying a Bike Lock

Buying a bike lock should not be an afterthought. High bike crime coupled with the rising cost of bikes mean it is important to use the best protection possible.

When buying a bike lock, you should ask the following questions:

Will the bike lock perform its job?

Buying a cycle lock which has not undergone an approved security test, is just not worth it.

What is a quality lock?

A quality lock is one that has been accredited with the Police Preferred Specification.

Will the lock protect my bike?

An accredited bike lock will act as a strong deterrent to any thief. Your budget, what you are locking and where you are locking will determine which accredited bike lock to choose.
